What is IASTM?
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is a manual therapy technique that uses specialized instruments to break up scar tissue and adhesions in the soft tissues. This can help to improve range of motion, reduce pain, and speed up recovery from injury.
What is IASTM 1.0?
IASTM 1.0 is the first version of this technique, and it was developed in the early 2000s. IASTM 1.0 is still widely used today, and it is considered to be an effective treatment for a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. IASTM technique enables clinicians to effectively detect and treat scar tissue that affect normal function.

Providers will be given an introduction to IASTM that includes a lecture about the anatomy and physiology of fascial and connective tissue and how it relates to IASTM. Information regarding the history of and latest research on IASTM will also be discussed. Providers will be given a clinical/lab session where they will learn the proper biomechanics and hand holds of IASTM tools. Additionally, providers will be taught on treatment protocols for 30 different diagnoses.
